RTE's Ryan Tubridy sends fans wild as he drops Late Late Toy Show hints

Ryan Tubridy dropped more hints of the Late Late Toy Show theme this week with Minions and WIzards of Oz leading the guesses amongst eager fans.

The RTE host sent his fans wild earlier this week, sharing a photo of himself standing up on a yellow table, smiling into the camera, with his arms folded during top secret Toy Show rehearsals.

And as Tubs teased his followers that there are some subtle clues in the picture about what the opening number will be, fans flooded the RTE star with possible themes.

He said: “Toy Show opening number dance rehearsal... Very subtle clues within.”

Commenting on the excitement the snap drummed up online on his RTE Radio 1 show on Wednesday, he said: “I put up a picture from my dance lesson yesterday with Stewart, which I’ll be doing more of later, and I said there are a couple of clues as to what the Toy Show is.

“The guys upstairs are doing their nut trying to guess it, and i’m saying ‘no, you’re wrong, you're wrong, I’m loving it, loving the power, but they haven’t got it right, or near it actually.”

“But some people have been trying to guess it, not correctly.”

He went on to read out some of the texts and guesses that came in.

He said: “Saw your Insta post yesterday, my guess is the Wizard Of Oz simply because you have used the term, ‘see behind the curtain’ a number of times on the radio recently. I had my suspicions long before yesterday’s post’ says Dee.”

Keeping his cards to his chest, he said: “Yeah maybe. Maybe not. I don’t know.”

The 47-year-old host also revealed some other eager fans had guessed Peter Pan due to the way he was positioned and standing in the photo.

Meanwhile, others are convinced this year’s show could be a Minions-themed.

“We were told people were guessing the Minions and because of my post, I’m standing on a table a lot of people think it might be Peter Pan,” he said.

“Yeah maybe. Maybe it’s the Minions. I don’t know.”

Tubs, who returned to the helm of The Late Late Show last month after a summer break admitted he’s missing the “buzz” of the audience..

He said: “I miss my audience, I have to say on the Late Late Show, I do miss the buzz of the crowd.

“It’s a much more peculiar affair to be honest with you.

“I look forward to my friends in the audience coming back some day.”
