RTE's Ryan Tubridy has revealed the kind voice note message that he sent pregnant Lottie Ryan.
Fellow radio presenter Lottie and husband Fabio Aprile are expecting their first baby in August.
Ryan hadn't seen Lottie since she revealed her baby news until Wednesday when he spotted her in the corridors of RTE.
He said this morning: "Yesterday, I was dashing along the corridor and I had to go around the other side because of Covid corridor regulations.
"I saw just to the left just briefly Lottie Ryan, I love Lottie, I kept going even though I'd normally stop and say hello.
"I had a briefing about an interview with Michael D Higgins and had to go.
"I hadn't seen her since her news that she was going to have a baby.
"I was all excited and recorded a voice message (for her)."
Tubridy felt bad he hadn't gotten in contact with her sooner after Lottie revealed her pregnancy.
He said in the voice message: "I just want to say that I'm so happy for you and the baby, I'm so proud.
"It's going to be beautiful, you'll be a great mum.
"It's really great, tell your mum I said Hi."
Lottie responded with a voice message and it was 'lovely and everything was fine'.
Ryan told the story on his RTE Radio One programme after a listener commented that they didn't like getting whatsapp voice messages.
He defended using them and added: "I think voice messages are ok.
"I'm not going to go down on voice messages.
"There are times (for it)."
Tubridy also told listeners that President Of Ireland Michael D Higgins, Ireland's rugby captain Jonathan Sexton and singer Imelda May will all be appearing on this week's Late Late Show.
