RTE's Ryan Tubridy reacts to Garth Brooks' possible Croke Park comeback concerts

RTE's Ryan Tubridy believes that Garth Brooks' possible Croke Park comeback concerts would be the post-pandemic party "to end all parties."

American country music star Brooks is reportedly planning a series of gigs at GAA HQ in 2022, seven years after he had to cancel five shows at the venue.

Virgin Media News has reported that negotiations are being finalised for Brooks to appear at Croke Park in September of next year.

Ryan Tubridy told listeners to his RTE Radio One show on Tuesday morning: "They're saying Garth Brooks may come back to Ireland.

"Didn't your heartbreak for everyone (the last time) particularly the fans and I got the sense that Brooks was really sad about this (the cancelled gigs).

"This furore went all the way to Leinster House.

"If they're going to do it, they're going to do it right this time.

"That will be one hell of a comeback, talk about the joy that will bring.

"It's the post-pandemic party to end all parties.

"That'll be so much fun, here's hoping."

Neither Croke Park or Aiken Promotions have commented on the reports.
