RTE's Ryan Tubridy issues ominous Trump prediction ahead of US elections as he doubts presidential polls

Ryan Tubridy shocked listeners this morning after admitting he's "lost all faith" in polling ahead of the US presidential elections.

The 47-year-old cast doubt over the polls ahead of next week, insisting: "I don't believe in number-crunching."

Most polls are predicting a comfortable win for Joe Biden over President Donald Trump next week.

But Tubs left listeners open-mouthed as he argued: "I've lost all faith in the polling – I have absolutely no idea. I couldn't call it.

"People will come up to you and say, 'no, but did you not see this poll? It's very nuanced and intelligent'.

"I don't care. I just don't believe you anymore.

"I don't believe number-crunching – nothing."

An audibly excited Tubridy explained his take on the situation – which will likely surprise many, with most experts forecasting a straightforward win for Biden – by adding: "You can't predict a mood. And that's what this is – it's about a national mood.

"It's just utterly fascinating and absorbing stuff."

Only time will tell if the Dubliner is vindicated, but one thing is for certain: Tubs will be glued to the action as it unfolds next Tuesday night.

Tubridy revealed to listeners today that he'll be missing from his regular morning radio slot next week – and said he's going to make full use of his time off to gorge on the election.

"The election falls on Tuesday night, so I'm thinking of pulling an all-nighter, and going for it," he said.

"And maybe get a few beers in, and watch it through the night.

"Because it's too good – it's too historic – not to be watching on the hoof."

He urged parents to let their kids observe the action, encouraging those in transition year to "take the Wednesday off and watch it – watch history.

"Don't learn about it in 10 years, watch it now. It's too interesting."
