RTE's Ryan Tubridy heaps praise on emergency crew for going above and beyond for elderly lady

RTE's Ryan Tubridy has praised an ambulance crew in Wexford who went above and beyond for a woman who had fallen in her home.

The woman lives alone and took a fall but thanks to the work of the emergency services she is back "chatting and drinking tea".

The lady's child posted on Twitter under the username "Yes Ireland Can": "The Wexford ambulance crew got the key from the keysafe outside, got my mother on a stretcher, packed a bag for her, fed the cat, locked the house and put the key back.

"Thanks to all for kind words of concern. Nothing broken. She is chatting and drinking tea for Ireland."

Thankfully, the woman didn't break anything in the fall and Ryan was blown away by the kindness of the Wexford crew.

He told listeners on his RTE Radio One show: "Appreciate how amazing these people are.

"They're not just doing a job you know.

"They're not just automated, they bring kind, they bring joy, they bring soul.

"It is gorgeous and that's what it's all about."
