RTE's Ryan Tubridy gives fans 'heads up' as he says huge number have applied for Late Late Toy Show tickets already

RTE's Ryan Tubridy revealed over 40,000 people have already applied to be in the Late Late Toy Show audience.

The highly anticipated Christmas show is set to take place next month, and the star announced on Friday that they are now taking applications for those who want to bag a front seat.

And after Covid put a halt to anyone getting in to watch the magic live last year, it seems everyone wants a golden ticket.

Speaking on his RTE Radio One show on Monday, just days after applications for the show were announced, he said: “We announced that you could apply for the audience...

"And that has reached 40,000 applications over the weekend alone.”

The top RTE host admitted it will be ‘strange’ to welcome the studio audience back at the extravaganza this year, as he provided an update on the level of demand to those waiting in hope for the call from bosses that they have bagged a seat.

“I just want to give you a heads up in case you are wondering what is happening with that, but you will get the details of that on the website,” he said.

In line with Government guidance, only those who are vaccinated will be allowed in the audience.

RTE said in a statement: "The most magical time of the year is upon us - yes The Late Late Toy Show 2021 will hit our screens on Friday the 26th of November, and we are looking forward to welcoming our studio audience back so here's your chance to apply for a Golden Ticket!

"If you would like to be part of our live studio audience, please fill in the form below.

“Tell us why you would like to be part of the Television event of the Year.

"Current RTÉ Health and Safety guidelines mean that we are only accepting applications from fully vaccinated audience members.

"You must be over-18 to apply. RTÉ reserve the right of admission. Tickets are strictly non-transferable."
