RTE's Ryan Tubridy gives cheeky glimpse into his home where 'Christmas has come early'

Ryan Tubridy gave fans a cheeky glimpse into his Christmas plans this morning, as well as opening up about the decorating process inside his own home.

The RTE kingpin told was in buoyant form this morning as he hailed the households around the country who are starting Christmas early amid the pandemic.

"I’ve noticed driving around the place, more houses have lights outside, and I’ve seen a few trees in windows. In other words, Christmas has come early this year," he told listeners on the airwaves.

"And why not? I completely agree."

A giggling Tubs added: "If you can have a long Covid, you can have a long Christmas. So let’s go for it."

It wasn't just other houses that were the focus of the Dubliner's attention this morning, though – he also turned the spotlight on his own home, where the decorating process is "inching" along.

The 47-year-old left fans wanting more details of his home life, teasing only that he and his family have started the journey of kitting the house out for the festive period.

"We took the decorations down from the attic last night.

"Now, we didn’t take them out, or do the tree – we’re just inching towards the excitement of it all.

"The decorations came down. We dusted them off, put in the few new ones we have, and are ready to go.

"Just add tree."

All week, listeners to Tubridy's daily radio show can expect a slow drip of hints about this Friday's Late Late Toy Show, with its excited host barely able to contain himself ahead of the big night.

Tubs, who has promised an "epic" Toy Show this year, said on radio yesterday that the programme brings out his inner "Christmas Eve child".

"This is going to be an exceptionally crazy week," he said.

"I was up at the crack of dawn this morning, with the excitement of it all. Such is the nature of it all – it brings out the Christmas Eve child in me, anyway."
