Miriam O'Callaghan revealed her joy as she became a grandmother for the first time.
The veteran RTE broadcaster made the announcement of their family’s newest addition at the weekend, as they celebrated her granddaughter's christening.
The 61-year-old mum-of-eight gushed: "So my little girl Alannah just had a little girl - and we had the best day christening her yesterday.”
She also shared her granddaughter's Irish name, saying: "Éabha Anne Breathnach is my first grandchild and I am over the moon. Incredible love all over again.”
Miriam's daughter Alannah is the first of Miriam's eight children to become a parent.
Posting some family photos from the christening, Miriam explained that it was a special time for the family, as her own mother was in attendance.
"Extra special that my Mum - Eabha’s great grandmother - was with us celebrating too. “Eternally grateful for life’s kindnesses and good fortune."
The Prime Time host also told the sentimental meaning behind the new family member’s name, as she was named after her own late sister.
Sharing more snaps of her mum holding the baby, she said: "My wonderful Mum Miriam and her great grand-daughter, the beautiful healthy Éabha Anne - so thoughtfully named by Alannah & Fiachra after my much missed sister Anne who died aged 33.”
Her friends, fans and famous friends flooded her and her family with congratulations, with Lucy Kennedy saying: "Awe lovely news!"
Her RTE colleague and new mum Sinead Kennedy said: “Congratulations Miriam and Alannah too of course!
“I’d say you’ve gorgeous Éabha spoiled rotten…dead right.”
Irish actor and singer Maria Doyle Kennedy wrote: "Miriam, that’s such amazing, joyous news, Grá mór to all," whilst model Thalia Heffernan added: “Congrats to you all.”
