RTE's Late Late Show to go ahead as planned despite Ryan Tubridy's 'persistent cough'

This Friday’s Late Late Show will go ahead as planned despite host Ryan Tubridy’s ‘persistent cough’, RTE have confirmed.

Tubridy has been missing from his Radio 1 show this week, with Oliver Callan filling in for the Donnybrook stalwart since Wednesday.

But the Late Late team say they are working on this week’s programme as normal with the expectation that the 46-year-old will be well, with guests expected to be announced later this afternoon.

"As it stands, the Late Late Show team are currently working towards Ryan being well and in for Friday's show,” the station told RSVP Live.

"The Late Late Show will go ahead on Friday."

The news comes just a couple of days after fellow RTE presenter Claire Byrne became the highest-profile confirmed case of COVID-19 in the country.
