RTE's Kathryn Thomas tells of Christmas leftover disaster that left her mother in a rage

RTE's Kathryn Thomas has told of her family's Christmas leftover disaster where a rogue family member fired out all the food.

Speaking on her RTE Radio One show on Tuesday morning, Kathryn said one person offered to do the clean up while the rest of the family went for a walk.

However, they returned to the unsavoury site of roast potatoes and Christmas cake being flung into the bin.

The RTE presenter explained her mother nearly kicked him out of the house for what he had done.

The Operation Transformation host said: "He offered to do the Stephen's Day clean-up so we headed out for a walk, when we came back every bit of food had been fired out.

"I'm talking the veggies, the roast spuds, the Cranberry sauce, the bread sauce, now he argued that nothing had been put back in the fridge.

"The ham was rescued, he didn't get rid of the ham, but the Christmas cake, that was the other one, gone.

"My mother nearly upended him out of the house, we are still not over it.

"It's a decisive subject the old leftovers, some people like himself can't stomach the leftovers, don't get it. Whereas for me, leftovers are officially the best part of Christmas."
