RTE’s ‘How To Be Good With Money’ host Eoin McGee has hit out at an unnamed publication for writing an article that claims he promoted making money via cryptocurrency.
In a video posted to his Twitter today, the financial adviser said he has nothing to do with the article, and wasn’t approached for quotes or comment on the claims.
‘If you have seen an article that says I was “pulled off national radio by the Central Bank” because I was telling the world how to make money off crypto, the article has absolutely nothing to do with me.
‘They don’t have my permission, they didn’t get quotes from me, it has nothing to do with me, so please ignore the online article that is going around.’
McGee then asked that people not to search for the piece because ‘you’ll only bump them up the Google ranks if you go looking at it as well.’
But he said ‘please be aware I did not partake in an interview about crypto, and I did not get pulled off a national airwave talking about crypto because the Central Bank was worried about me pulling the financial system apart.
‘For those of you who follow me, you know my stance, it’s not my bag.’
It's not the first time the best-selling author has been featured in an article about earning money through investing in the digital currency that he had no part in.
Back in 2019, he took to social media to say: “There is an article circulating stating I promoted the use of cryptocurrencies.
“I have no affiliation with this article and have not given any permission to use my name.”
Both articles have seemingly been removed since, and McGee did not mention where they originated from.
