RTE’s jam-packed new schedule was announced last week, with many viewers anxiously awaiting the return of some of their favourite shows.
From talk shows to reality TV and comedy, lots of family favourites are back on RTE this autumn/winter season.
Here’s everything that’s returning to your screens from September onwards:
Classics
The Late Late Show returns as it looks forward to marking its 60th birthday with a celebration in 2022. The first show of the new season airs on Friday, September 3 at 9.30pm.
Tommy Tiernan is also back with a new season of his talk show, with an added Christmas special to look forward to on January 2, 2022.
Today with Maura and Dáithí will be turning 10 and has welcomed Home School Hub's Emer O'Neill as its new presenter - filling in for Sinéad Kennedy who is on maternity leave.
Some more favourites returning to the screen from September are Room to Improve, First Dates Ireland, the Niall Breslin-hosted Soundtrack to My Life, Baz Ashmawy and the DIY SOS crew, Keys to My Life, Ireland's Fittest Family and The Style Counsellors.
New
As for some new entertainment headed your way, on Saturday nights Nicky Byrne will be hosting the new, karaoke-inspired game show Last Singer Standing - with a start date yet to be announced.
Contestants will be battling for a prize of €25,000 and Nadine Coyle, Joey Fatone and Samantha Mumba will act as panellists.
Saturday night will now also be home to Angela Scanlon's Ask Me Anything, which will bring "plenty of surprises and revelations as Angela chats with guests who have agreed to be asked about absolutely anything".
Love Island star Maura Higgins is taking on the role of presenter for a new show that will see Ireland's best amateur make-up artists battle it out in Glow Up Ireland- starting on September 5.
Finally, there will be challenges of a very different kind in Hell Week - The Professionals as 18 of Ireland's fittest from the world of sport and entertainment put themselves through the special forces wringer on September 8.
