TV star Baz Ashmawy has told how he quit booze three years ago and these days gets his kicks from a hot bath.
The Emmy award winning creator of 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy revealed having six kids to rear, put a halt to his partying.
Dubliner Baz told the Irish Mirror: “I don’t drink, I gave up three years ago, I couldn’t drink anymore with the kids.
“I feel great, I say I don’t drink anymore and I always keep thinking one day I’ll have a glass of wine.
“I don’t know it’s weird, once I gave it up I never went back to it.”
The 44-year-old star admitted he’s swapped booze for a more holistic way of living.
He said: “I’ve found yoga and meditation is amazing for you.
“I can see maybe if my partner Tanya and I were out for a night on holidays, without the kids, I could see us having a nice cocktail but it just hasn’t happened.
“I feel healthy, I feel well, my mind is good, I’m just enjoying life.”
Switching to a life of sobriety took time to master he explained: “You can’t force things like this, it’s a bit of a transition, you know yourself, you don’t have a buffer.”
Parenthood is tough and turning to booze to relax is a thing of the past for the telly favourite.
He said: “When the kids go to bed you just go, ‘Oh Jesus give me a glass of wine before I choke someone and just unwind’.
“But sometimes you can get the same thing from a nice salad and a bath.
“It’s like eating bad food, I could go nine months eating so clean and then I’ll eat s**t for two months.”
The affable presenter is turning his hand to DIY for his latest TV project but admits he’s useless around his own house.
He said: “I’m in the mood at the moment to make TV shows that are positive and help people.

“I’ve just finished doing Wingman and we’re doing DIY SOS next year for RTE.
“I’m useless at DIY, I’ve got an allen key and a butter knife, that’s about the extent of it.
“I can dig in and sledge a wall and pick up a brick, I can do the grunt work, but don’t let me go near anyone’s electrics.”
Following the success of 50 Ways to Kill my Mammy, Baz admitted there’s no stopping his 75-year old mom Nancy who’s eager to star on TV again.
He said: “Nancy is at me to do a new show so we’ll see, watch this space.”
