RTE Ryan Tubridy confirms radio replacements as he plans to go 'off the grid'

RTE star Ryan Tubridy has announced his replacements as the presenter gears up to take a few weeks off his popular morning radio show.

Addressing his audience at the end of today's show on RTE Radio One, Ryan revealed that he will be back on the airwaves in "a few weeks time". In the meantime, his 9am to 10am slot from Monday through to Friday every week will be filled by Brendan Courtney and Oliver Canning.

Before finishing up this morning, Ryan said: "I'll be back in a few weeks time. Thank you so much for listening. I meet people on the street who say the nicest things about the radio show."

The 49 year old presenter has had a busy few weeks from going to see Westlife at Dublin's Aviva Stadium to visiting Late Late Toy Show superstar Saoirse Ruane.

Ryan took to Instagram to poke fun at his break from the airwaves and joked that he would be running for UK Prime Minister.

He wrote: "As of this morning, I’m retiring from my current job so I can enter the race for Number 10. Not really but I’m off grid for a few weeks so have a great few weeks and I’ll see you in the other side."

Fans were quick to wish the presenter luck for his break away from radio.

One Instagram user wrote: "Enjoy your holidays and recharge. I pause the washing machine If it's on [between] 9 am and 10 and do not disturb is written on my forehead whilst I listen to your show."

Another said: "Have an amazing and healing space over the coming weeks."

Another person wrote: "I just love your morning chat and the mix of guests. Great film and book recommendations too! Have a great break Ryan."
