RTE has pulled a documentary about the life of HPV vaccine advocate Laura Brennan which was due to go out the day before her funeral.
The brave 26-year-old died on Wednesday having spent her final months fronting the HSE’s vaccine campaign after she was diagnosed with terminal cervical cancer.
She will be waked at her home in Clarecastle, Co Clare, in Tuesday with a mass of remembrance and celebration on Wednesday in Ennis Cathedral.
Laura Brennan: This Is Me, was initially due for release on the RTE Player on Tuesday but station chiefs have decided to postpone it.
A spokesman for the broadcaster told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “It’s been delayed out of respect to her family and a new transmission date has yet to be decided. It’s a fly-on-the-wall documentary with her telling it in her own words.”

Laura was instrumental in reversing the fall in the numbers of teenage girls availing of the HPV vaccine which protects against cervical cancer.
In her HSE promo she said: “I wish the vaccine had been available to me, of course I do. Don’t get swayed by rumours about the vaccine’s safety.
“This vaccine saves lives. It could have saved mine but it can save yours.”
She died surrounded by her loving family who described her as “a light in the life of everyone who knew her”.
CervicalCheck campaigner Vicky Phelan said she had “no words, just tears and emptiness” at the loss of such a brave young woman.
Health Minister Simon Harris added: “The State owes her a debt of gratitude.”
