Prime Time is known for tackling some of the toughest subjects every week over the last 29 years since it first aired in 1992.
And that was no different on Tuesday evening.
Unusually, the producers based the entire episode across the one topic on everyone's mind this week - Afghanistan.
In case you've missed it somehow, the Taliban moved quickly to overthrow the Afghan government after the US withdrew its troops in recent weeks, with the capital of Kabul being taken under Taliban control.
Afghan people desperately tried to escape their country, with some even trying to cling to the US planes leaving the area.
This was one of the main points that Prime Time would focus on, hosting interviews with David Miliband, Afghan MP Farzana Kochai and Dr Abdullah Afghan laying the grim truth out for those who were unaware.
However, the show seemed to divide opinions on social media.
"Absolutely shocking stuff from @RTE_PrimeTime on Afghanistan. "Pressing the rewind button" but not mentioning the USA's role in arming, training and funding Islamic extremists?? F***ing shameful".
"Women can't afford to let the Taliban "earn" their trust. The Taliban only want women to stay because they need them to breed."
While one user, responding to Dr Abdullah, said: "What a terrifying situation for this man and his poor family"
The situation in Afghanistan is fast-moving and evacuation flights have resumed from Kabul; civilians are fleeing, displaced, female journalists face threats, and tensions have increased on the ground with the Covid-19 pandemic and drought also affecting the country.
The Taliban is an Islamic military group that has returned to a position of power - and this has caused widespread fear.
Many are trying to get out of the country on flights, some military-operated, to seek refuge in bordering countries and internationally.
Taliban fighters entered the presidential palace in Kabul on Sunday after Afghanistan president Ashraf Ghan quietly left the country.
