RTE Prime Time viewers baffled after 'f-bomb' claims as Miriam O'Callaghan 'flustered'

RTE viewers were left baffled by an alleged "f-bomb" on last night's episode of Prime Time.

Host Miriam O’Callaghan spoke to Professor Paul Moynagh and Professor Anthony Staines to discuss the latest developments in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Veteran broadcaster Miriam was joined only earlier this month by the two new presenters, Sarah McInerney and Fran McNulty, after the departure of David McCullagh.

And it seems the new group are not yet fully in sync, as Miriam appeared to have some communication issues with co-host Sarah after the first segment ended, RSVP Live reports.

Eagle eyed viewers were convinced they could hear someone in the studio whisper: ‘What the f**k?’

Miriam was clearly flustered at the blunder as she tried to cut back to Anthony, who was no longer available. Thankfully Paul was still on hand and the two continued their chat.

Meanwhile viewers instantly took to Twitter for some clarity on what they heard.

One asked: "Did someone just whisper "what the f***" on Primetime??"

While another added: "Did anyone else just hear 'what the f***' on Prime Time".

And a third added: "Coulda sworn I heard the F word in the background of #rtept just now - Sarah was offscreen, Miriam got a bit flustered; a bit of a wobble there!"
