RTE make sneaky edit to Late Late Toy Show on Player to save Ryan Tubridy's blushes

RTE have made a sneaky edit to the Late Late Toy Show on their player to save Ryan Tubridy's blushes.

At one hour and 23 minutes, they took out the part where he appeared to say "Oh for f*** sake."

The edit on the RTE player skips a few seconds for Ryan and leaves out the fizzy moment.

The host seemed to mutter the swear  word under his breath when a bottle of Fanta he tried to open fizzed up everywhere.

The host was having a mini-meal with AC/DC fan Abbie, when a bottle of Fanta Orange he was opening fizzed up and spilled.

Tubs appeared to hilariously swear during the ordeal, and Twitter users thought it was absolutely gas:

DJ Eoghan McDermott posted on Twitter: "Ryan just dropped the F bomb on the toyshow. This is not a drill.

"Well that was gorgeous and uplifting in all the right ways. Was worried it might fall flat with no audience and everyone on edge over distancing but nope, so lovely.

"Props to Ryan, the kids, the band, the crew and all the celebs who lifted our spirits."

Another said: "Ooohh Ryan dropping the F bomb opening a bottle of fanta."

Viewers seemed to love this year's addition of the iconic programme, with many heaping praise on organisers for keeping the show on the road during the pandemic.

Irish teen Michael Moloney is a massive Dermot Kennedy fan and perfomed a superb version of Giants, which he dedicated to his late father.

Mayo teen Michael's father passed away three years ago.

Ryan Tubridy said Michael's father would be proud to see him singing on the show.

Mid-chorus, Dermot came into marvel at Michael's assured rendition.

The chart topper said "It was magical" after his latest duet.

"It was flawless, I was more nervous than you coming in."

More than a million people tuned in to see the highly-anticipated Late Late Toy Show last night.

Host Ryan Tubridy thrilled young and old alike dressed as Fantastic Mr Fox with a team of Matildas in tow for the Roald Dahl-themed extravaganza.

The most kid-friendly show on the planet was just what the doctor ordered after the doom and gloom of the pandemic lockdown.

Tubs promised viewers two musical numbers and the 47-year old big kid wowed with a spectacular performance of Singin’ In The Rain. In what Ryan described as “a dream come true”, the set of Carrigstown for RTE’s Fair City provided the perfect backdrop for the presenter to channel his inner Gene Kelly and get his feet and everything else wet.

Joined by performers from Miss Ali Stage School in Dublin and Spotlight Stage School, Tubridy stepped out on to the street in Carrigstown for the second performance, which aired in part two.

A little garda, played by Matthew McHugh, added to the heart-warming performance, where Tubs entered the street from Carrigstown’s Library, putting his umbrella up just as a man in an upstairs window pours water out.

As torrential rain poured down with a little help from a rain machine, a team of dancers were soaked.

As the sequence neared an end, Ryan was joined by four little ducks as they splashed about in puddles before running off as little Garda McHugh popped along, wagging his finger, and moving them along.

Tubs promised that no one was likely to guess the opening song and he was right – Bjork’s It’s Oh So Quiet.

The host underwent a transformation from book reader in a library, to Fantastic Mr Fox as the tempo of the song kicks off, and things went from quiet to mayhem in the library, with Dahl characters turning up left, right and centre to dance.

The “drive-thrus” featuring children driving through the studio on toy cars and bikes were featured, as well as a books corner and games corner.

Some of the toys featured included Henry and Dyson vacuums for children, puppets, a karaoke machine, junior vet set and junior doctor set, Fairy Door stationery, and a kid’s foot spa.

Another memorable moment was when Tubs was brought to tears by the Rule The World performance.

The singers featured in the performance all had Irish connections and joined together to send special messages to their loved ones back in Ireland through the medium of song.

During the song, Dublin singer Eva Norton, from Lucan, led the charge from the studio, as she was joined from youngsters as far flung as Adelaide, Perth, Dubai, New York, South Korea and New Zealand.

Ahead of the unforgettable show, Tubs said: “I don’t think there will be a dry eye in the land tonight when this performance is beamed across the country.”

Meanwhile, Tubridy and children from Spotlight Stage School were pictured yesterday on the Roald Dahl-inspired set. Matilda, Charlie, a little fox, little rabbit, grasshopper, and Badger, all from Dahl’s collection of stories, joined him in Studio 4 ahead of the annual festive extravaganza.

Last night, Ryan launched a brand new Toy Show-inspired charity for children in need.

RTE is partnering with The Community Foundation for Ireland, to help support children’s charities and causes all around the country and spread the Toy Show magic across the year.
