RTE Late Late Toy Show star Adam King is 'doing really well' after suffering nasty fall

Toy Show star Adam King is "is doing really well" as he recovers at home following a recent fall that saw him break his femur.

The Cork child, who stole the heart of the nation on the Toy Show late last year, has brittle bones and fell leaving him with a serious injury to his leg.

In an encouraging update that was shared this evening, well-wishers were told: "Hi all! Adam is doing really well. A long week and glad to be out the other side. Familiar territory for people living with OI Type III. Focused on the positives - no surgery required! Thank you SO MUCH for all the good wishes - we love you! Lots of exciting updates soon! Hugs"

A video message of the brave six-year-old was also posted where Adam said: "Hello everyone! My leg is still sore but it's getting much better. Thank you for all your good wishes to me. Bye!"

After the incident, Adam's family took him to Cork University Hospital and thankfully, the medical staff said that he would not be needing surgery.

Earlier this week, Adam's family asked the public to keep him in their thoughts while also praising the staff at Cork University Hospital.

A tweet read: "A little personal post, as you all know Adam has brittle bones and sadly suffered a femur fracture this weekend. Thankfully he does not require surgery this time. He is happy to be home but very sore. Please keep him in your thoughts."

Last month, a film starring Adam won a US TV award - an accolade that was previously won by Oprah Winfrey.

The Cork Nativity which aired on RTÉ over the festival period won the Wilbur Award for best short documentary.
