RTE Late Late Show viewers react to Christy Moore making amusing lyric change during performance

Irish music legend Christy Moore appeared on the Late Late Show last night and viewers were not disappointed.

The Kildare native spoke to Ryan about his latest release "Flying Into Mystery".

Earlier this week, Christy received a "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the RTE Folk Awards.

The singer is known for changing some of the lyrics in his iconic song 'Delirium Tremens' to line-up with current affairs in the country.

And when performing the song during the show last night, the latest lyric update included digs at those involved in the Golfgate scandal.

He sang: "Then I dreamt I was in Clifden, having a game of golf.

"A four-ball with Donie Cassidy, Phil Hogan and Seamus Wolfe.

"I dreamt I was a member of their elite golf society. Covid lockdown, regulations and buck all to do with me."

Viewers were delighted with Christy's Late Late Show performance.

One tweeted: "Christy Moore giving it to them all tonight with them "new" lyrics!"

Another said: "Life is back to normal. Christy Moore is back."

A third wrote: "Christy Moore, an absolute national treasure."
