RTE Late Late Show viewers let their thoughts be known as The 2 Johnnies chat to Ryan Tubridy

Podcast stars The 2 Johnnies opened the Late Late Show on Friday night as they chatted to Ryan about all things Tipp and GAA.

The young men, both of whom hail from Tipperary, had Tubs in stitches at points as they put on their usual hilarious act.

One line in particular that caught viewers attention was when asked by Ryan how they were getting on, to which they replied: “We’re like two fella’s driving down a backroad with no tax. It’s not great, but we’re getting away it!”

Late Late viewers were also given an exclusive announcement as the lads confirmed they would be bringing their podcast live show to the 3Arena - in what would be the biggest live podcast ever in Ireland.

Many viewers headed to Twitter to praise the lads for their appearance on the show - although others didn't quite get the humour of the most popular podcasters in all of Ireland.

On dubious fan said: "I shouldn't like the 2 johnnies but i find them very genuine. Their podcast is enjoyable too."

Another viewer said: "If the 2 Johnnies actually presented the late late show every week I’d actually watch it on the regular."

While one said "Christmas shopping for me just got a lot easier" after the announcement of the 3Arena gig.

Some people weren't as impressed however, with one labelling the pair the "Daniel O'Donnell" of comedy.

While one Dub said: "Country lads just aren’t funny at all."

But one defensive fan replied: "What do people have against the 2 Johnnies? They are genuine hard working & sound. If you don't like them grand, but there's no need to be a dick about it."

Another said: "It's actually so upsetting how so much hatred on twitter for the 2 johnnies, they're Irish and trying to make a go of it in media I say fair f**** to them I wish I had the courage to do what they're doing."

Details for the 2 Johnnies live shows are expected to be announced on their social media pages in the coming days.
