RTE Late Late Show viewers let their thoughts be known after Ronan Keating interview

RTE’s viewers were left disappointed following a performance by Boyzone’s Ronan Keating on Friday nights Late Late Show.

The singer appeared on the show alongside his wife Storm to discuss his new album, which is a collection of covers of the greatest Irish classics.

The album titled Songs From home includes songs such as Raglan Road, Into The Mystic, Where The Streets Have No Name, The Voyage, The Island, Summer In Dublin, Guiding Light, No Frontiers, The Blower’s Daughter, The Parting Glass, Heyday and Set In Stone.

However, some viewers were left less than impressed after Ronan began singing Raglan Road following a request from Ryan Tubridy.

Taking to Twitter, viewers expressed how they felt about the impromptu performance.

One said: “Please don’t butcher one of my all time favourite songs. I beg.”

Another wrote: “Wow that sounds like a whole bunch of songs Ronan Keating is ruining”.

Ronan, along with his wife Storm, then went on to perform together as they sang The Blowers Daughter.

Storm, who was hospitalised earlier this year with a prolapsed disk and had emergency surgery, looked stunning in an orange top and black leather trousers.

She then took to the stage with her husband to perform the song.

Again some viewers were unimpressed with Ronan’s second performance.

However, others were quick to praise the couple, saying they enjoyed that song and people shouldn’t be so begrudging of the Irishman.

One user said: “Taking the p***out of everyone on the #latelate is par for the course every Friday night but like his voice or not, Ronan Keating has had a hugely successful career so f*** the begrudgers I guess.

“I think he has a super voice myself for what it’s worth”.

Another said: “Omg Ronan and Storm where sensational together, such a beautiful couple who are so down to earth.”

A third said: “unpopular opinion but I actually liked that performance from @ronanofficial & Storm! As for him singing Raglan Road I think he was put on the spot, you could tell he was scarlet, he knew Twitter would annihilate him for it”.
