RTE Late Late Show: Ryan Tubridy to hear about 'death during climax', update from Dr Holohan and songs from superstar

On this Friday night's Late Late Show , host Ryan Tubridy will speak to Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey   about   going from a shirtless romantic comedy star, to being the toast of Hollywood.

Matthew leaves Ryan in stitches on more than one occasion with his stories during this interview.

Matthew describes the heartbreaking moment his mother called him to break the news that his father has passed away.

He says in the RTE interview: "My dad always said to his sons 'boys, when I go, I'm going to be making love to your mother.'

"I get a call, August 17th, 1993, and it's my mom and she said 'your dad died this morning'.

"I said 'how?', she said 'well he woke up at six o'clock, felt a little frisky, and as soon as he climaxed, he had a heart attack and died."

"Goddamit Mom, I didn't think anyone in the world could have killed him except you. He called the shot and died while making love to Mom, what a way to go."
