RTE Late Late Show honours hero Dublin woman for extraordinary work helping homeless

A Dublin woman was honoured on last night's Late Late Show for her extraordinary work for helping the homeless during the pandemic.

Geraldine Molloy was named as one of only five winners of the AXA Community Hero awards 2020.

The city centre woman was hailed for her tireless work with Inner City Helping Homeless charity (ICHH).

During the pandemic, Geraldine worked 12-hour days leading a team on food distribution and supports also doing outreach, food distribution, and case management/mental health supports.

Geraldine was presented with €5,000 for herself and an additional €20,000 which was donated to the charity of her choice - ICHH.

Speaking today Antoinette McDonald, Director at AXA said: “Geraldine is an inspirational figure who has played a key supportive role during the pandemic for some of our most vulnerable citizens.

"We are delighted to honor her with this award and to support a great cause.”
