RTE Late Late Show bites back at woman who would 'rather stick pins in her eyes' than be in audience

The Late Late Show's social media account hit back in epic fashion at one woman who said she would rather do anything else than watch the programme live.

The Twitter account for the Friday night chat show promoted a competition for viewers at home to win an amazing prize.

It said: "We want to bring you and a friend to see us live in studio on NEXT Friday night.

"You’ll also enjoy a night for two at the 4* @morrisondublin Hotel, on Dublin’s Ormond Quay.

"To win: RT this post. FOLLOW us on Insta."

While the post got plenty of positive attention from people hoping to win the prize, one woman was unimpressed.

She replied: "I'd rather stick pins in my eyes.!!"

The person behind The Late Late Show's Twitter account responded to the woman by highlighting that she followed the page despite not being much of a fan.

They wrote: "Carol would rather stick pins in her eyes than come to see us live!

"But at least you're still following us on Twitter though."

Many people were impressed by the retort, with some calling it "the tweet of the night".

One person said: "The late late show bites back."

A second wrote: "Ah, tweet of the night!!!! Well done late late show."

A third commented: "Hahaha! Love it."

Another wrote: "Well done @RTELateLateShow. Carol obviously isn’t interested in a fun night out enjoying live music and craic agus ceol."

While someone else said: "Nicely done."

And another responded: "Oh wow!! That was actually quite funny."
