RTE Ireland's Fittest Family contestant shows the reality of show with hilarious TikTok

The harsh realities of how tough Ireland's Fittest Family really is was revealed in full in a hilarious TikTok video posted by a young contestant this week.

Emily Doyle from Longford was joined by her brother Ben, her sister Molly and her mother Madeline on the show alongside 15 other families to battle it out for the honour of being Ireland's fittest family.

But reality struck fast for the 20-year-old who got stuck in to the physically draining challenges.

The young woman was happy to share her experience on the show with her followers though and posted the video titled "Not my finest moments" on the popular social media site and it has since been viewed 284,000 times.

It follows the theme of a new trend on TikTok using the music 'You give me butterflies' and reads "How I thought I'd look on Ireland's Fittest Family" where the Doyle's are shown alongside their mentor Donncha O'Callaghan before they go through various challenges in the Wicklow mountains.

But when the beat drops the video takes a turn and various clips of Emily struggling to make it through a number of gruelling obstacles are shown with a caption reading "Vs How I looked".

Over 46,000 users on the app liked the video with plenty of fans of the RTE show praising Emily and the Doyle clan for their efforts on the show.

One user told Emily, "It's really hard, so you did great" while another wrote, "My whole family wanted the Doyles to win, it's so hard!"

The popular RTE show puts Irish families to the test with gruelling challenges and courses on the Hell and Back course at the foot of the Wicklow mountains.

Hosted by Mairead Ronan, the families battled it out with help from coaches Davy Fitzgerald, Anna Geary, Derval O'Rourke, and Donncha O'Callaghan.

Over half of the families have been eliminated and the competition is really heating up with the second quarter final to be shown this weekend.

You can watch Ireland's Fittest Family on Sunday at 6:30pm on RTE One.
