RTE Home of the Year viewers fume as judge storms off show

There was slight controversy in last night's Home of the Year as the decision on what property went through to the final caused uproar on social media.

The popular show returned for a seventh series with two new judges, Amanda Bone and Suzie Mc Adam as well as returning judge Hugh Wallace at the helm.

And RTE viewers last night sided with judge Amanda - saying that the Dublin apartment should've been put through to the final.

Such was her annoyance at the decision, Amanda ended up walking off the show.

The three homes that featured were all unique.

The first was a stunning period home.

Owned by Kevin Desmond in Dublin, it had required a lot of work to be done to it.

The property was sympathetically restored throughout paying particular attention to features of an 1830’s house.

The judges gave the home a score of 26.

The second home belonged to artist Isobel Henihan.

Finally, Mark O'Brien's apartment in the capital had stunning views out of two large windows, with the sounds of the onrushing river accompanying the bustle of life.

The judges gave the apartment a score of 25 - much to the chagrin of Amanda and fans.

''I’ll say it. Amanda is the best judge'' tweeted one viewer.

''The apartment should’ve won this week’s episode'' added a second.

But some were not impressed with how Amanda reacted to not getting the decision she wanted.

''Best house won tonight , but Amanda did not get her way she walked off how ignorant of her was that'' one watcher noted.

''Almost perfect? Jesus, could you imagine trying to buy a gift for Amanda? Never happy'' said a second.
