RTE Home of the Year judge slammed by viewers as 'mean' for comments on entry

Tuesday night meant the return of Home of the Year to our screens, with some of Ireland's prettiest properties opening up their doors so the nation could have a peek around.

Hugh Wallace, Amanda Bone and Sara Cosgrove were once again stationed in place to judge the homes, with their opinions being taken into account before they all awarded scores to each property.

But one judge received some criticism from viewers on Tuesday night for their opinions on Tuesday.

One person simply labelled her "Amoanda" while many others took umbrage with her judgement of the first house.

One viewer tweeted: "Not everything can be white and contemporary Amanda!!! This kitchen is fabulous", with a second adding: "Amanda seems to be stuck in a timewarp - no changing her opinion - tension again tonight"

"I can't believe Amanda gave 7 to that beautiful first house on today's episode. She is mean, so mean" a third wrote.

Having awarded house one and house two a seven each, house three caught her eye - Aoife and Gareth Tolerton’s modernist new build in Co Down

Aoife took on the interior herself and created a modern, minimalist, clean look which is softened by rustic elements of wood throughout to create a very special home.

The couple love the modernist, 1960s, rustic, vibe that they’ve been able to create in their home.

And unsurprisingly, it came out as the winner for week three.

Award winning architect Amanda worked in Paris, New York and Dublin prior to establishing Amanda Bone Architects, a multi award winning architectural practice located in South Co. Dublin.

The practice is involved in both domestic and commercial work.
