RTE viewers have been praising the final three Hell Week contestants during tonight's season finale, as Peter Stringer, Ryan Andrews, Marc O'Neil and Melanie Nocher endured brutal last tests as Special Forces recruits.
Their last mission involved swimming to Spike Island where they were captured by enemies after placing a bomb in a canon.
The quartet of finalists were placed in stress positions for 15 minutes at a time, had hoods placed over their faces and were made listen to babies crying before enduring lenghty interrogations.
Fans of the show have been following the treacherous journey as some of their favourite TV, social media and sports stars were put to the ultimate test.
As the season came to a close, only three remained after Melanie discussed the "mission" with interrogators and therefore breached the rules and was made to leave the show.
Therefore it was Peter, Ryan and Marc who passed and earned the respect of the DS.
Fans have been taking to Twitter to congratulate all three recruits with some admitting they're going to miss the show, calling it "one of the best shows RTÉ has done in years."
On viewer wrote; "Absolute fair play to Stringer, Marc and especially Ryan!!! Getting though that with a broken rib not being an athlete absolutely deserves full respect!"
Another said; "That was one hell of a show! Phenomenal production! Congratulations to all involved!"
A third commented; "I miss Hell Week already!!"
