RTE First Dates viewers slam 'most painful' end to date ever with producer getting involved

Viewers of the hit show First Dates were left 'reeling' after the end of Aran and Kirsty’s date.

The popular show of romance, with many awkward moment’s and laughs has caused quite a stir online after Thursday night’s episode.

We are introduced to 23-year-old Aran, a Soldier and Rapper from Dublin, who is paired with 20-year-old Kirsty, an accountancy student from Waterford.

In his intro video, Aran wastes no time as he says he didn’t have a type but likes ‘nice legs, nice bum and nice teeth’.

Kirsty from Dungarvan went on the show looking for someone she could be in a ‘long relationship’ with who isn’t from her town.

She jokes that her Mam would be mad if she said she was looking for marriage.

The date starts off okay, but turns awkward as Aran talks himself up and performs a rap.

Aran says: “I sing in the shower, I started rapping tunes, the music is gonna take off 100%.”

Aran has recently started writing tunes, and says he’s actually “really good.”

The aspiring rapper has a small following online and a song with influencer Charleen Murphy and went on the show in search of the "love of his life".

As the date moves on in the wrong direction, it comes to the point where the cameras are pointed at Kirsty and Aran, to get their thoughts on their date.

Kirsty says: "First off I thought, 'He's not really my type', just off the bat.

"But I think if there's another date there, maybe another date or two...

"I'm getting an F-Boy kind of vibe off him like he just dates and ditches.

"I don't know about a relationship. He's a flirt," she said.

Afterwards, the producer asks both if they want to go on another romantic date, Kirsty says she wanted to go on a second before him.

As the camera is pointed at him, Aran cowardly says yeah, before the producer calls him out for lying and being dishonest to Kirsty.

Kirsty immediately picks up on his hesitation and shares that her instinct from the get go was that Aran was ‘full of shit’.

Viewers of the show were furious and took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Aran, with some saying it was the worst end to a date that First Dates has ever aired.

One viewer said: “Ah that was the most painful end to a date I’ve ever seen on First Dates. Why would you let them go first knowing you said no, and then try and bullshit it like #firstdatesirl”

Another added: “That young fella just gave the whole country the ick #FirstDatesIRL”

While a third said: “If you’re gonna say no to the girl, go first and don’t let her feel like a sap and then say yes to coward out of it. She can do way better anyway #FirstDatesIRL”
