RTE favourite Hardy Bucks could be returning to our screens soon

Hardy Bucks could be set for a sensational return to our screens after a star and co-creator of the show dropped a massive hint.

During an interview with Irishify.com, Martin Maloney, who plays Eddie Durkan on the show, let slip that a fifth series is currently being written.

It seems that the lads from Castletown could be back on our screens sooner rather than later.

When asked about the possibility of the show returning Martin replied: “I think the chances are very high. Definitely. If, you know, we just if someone approaches us, and they want us to make another series, and they've got the money in the bank, then I think the old posse will get together and ride again.”

Sweden based Martin said he would need to sort a few things out over there before he could return and go into production but things are definitely in the works.

“I've been writing new episodes,” he said, “ so we're thinking about maybe launching our own website and just doing things off our website. So we'll see how it goes. But that's going to be independently funded. But a couple of episodes are now in the bank.”

Aside from revealing the possible return of Hardy Bucks Martin discussed what he misses about Ireland.

“I missed the craic.

“ You know, the fact that you don't need you don't need to explain yourself when you're speaking to people from Ireland, because they just get the tone of what you're trying to say.

“Whereas, you know, you kind of have to spell things out.”

He continued: “I just miss my family friends. And just having those conversations with randomers in Westport, Galway, pints and Dublin.”
