RTE Crisis: Ryan Tubridy and agent Noel Kelly to be questioned on payments since 2017, according to PAC letter

Former Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy and his agent Noel Kelly are to be questioned on seven different topics, including payments dating as far back as 2017.

This was revealed in a letter sent to them by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Tubridy and Kelly are to attend a public meeting at Leinster House next Tuesday morning at 11am.

The chair of the Committee Brian Stanley identified seven different matters that need to be investigated during the meeting, including payments to RTE presenters and personnel, specifically from 2017 to date.

The radio host and his agent will also be questioned about Tubridy's contractual relationships with RTE, including related payments and exit fees, as well as the tripartite agreement. Details of a call on the May 7, 2020 and a subsequent letter from former Director General Dee Forbes to Tubridy will also be discussed.

The two men will be asked whether Tubridy gave any instructions to Kelly, and if there were any further discussions in that regard before finalisation of the agreement. Another issue that will be investigated is "the raising of associated invoices and related payments, the details of the invoices, and who was aware of same".

The PAC Chair also specified Tubridy and Kelly will be questioned about "any matters arising from the material that will be provided to the committee in advance of the meeting, and that RTE are expected to provide to the committee by Monday, July 10".
