RTE Claire Byrne Live viewers show no mercy as they give blunt opinions on one guest

RTE viewers were all saying the same thing after a fiery episode of Claire Byrne Live.

The housing crisis took centre stage in last night's show as Ireland's young people shared their despair at soaring house prices.

Minister for State for Local Government and Planning Peter Burke TD was grilled during a heated debate.

Irish mum Anita was one of many who joined over video-call to share their experiences, saying it broke her heart to see her 30-year-old son give up on buying a home after trying to save up for several years.

Anita slammed the recent reports of an investment firm that bought an entire estate of Dublin houses in order to rent them out with prices beginning at €1,975 a month.

And Fine Gael Minister Burke was in the firing line on social media for his defence of the government's handling of the crisis.

The TD's performance was labelled "dreadful" as he was accused of "talking around in circles."

One viewer wrote: "I cannot sit and listen to Peter Burke talk about how time is needed to realistically fix this housing crisis as if it is some brand new problem. People have marched on the streets over the housing crisis for all my adult life."

While another added: "Talk about spouting ultra Fine Gael nonsense during a housing & homeless crisis by Peter Burke."

Here is all the best of the social media reaction to last night's episode:
