Viewers of RTE's Claire Byrne Live were in disagreement about the issue of racism in Ireland after a special programme on the topic last night.
Several people from a variety of backgrounds appeared on the show to voice their experiences of being discriminated against because of their race.
Among the guests were Republic of Ireland soccer players Cyrus Christie, Darren Randolph and Adam Idah, Amanda Ade, host of the successful Black and Irish podcast, and teacher and activist Emer O'Neill.
Christine Buckley’s son Conor, former footballer and rugby player Jackie McCarthy-O'Brien, and Paula Hilman, the Assistant Garda Commissioner, were also in the studio.
Some of the panellists shared how bigotry has made it difficult for them to feel at home in the country they grew up in and how they had to try and hide their identities in some ways to fit in.

They also addressed issues surrounding casual racism and the importance of people calling it out when they see it.
Many viewers praised the "important" programme for confronting the issue of racism in Ireland and the discussion over what can be done to eliminate it in this country.
Others denied it was a problem here, claiming that people voicing their experiences of racism were "snowflakes".
However, the majority of reactions praised RTE and Claire Byrne for addressing the issue and said those who deny the prevalence of this discrimination are part of the problem.
