2FM star Lottie Ryan has revealed how she came up with the name Wolf for her baby son who was born in June.
Joining Jennifer Zamparelli on her show today, Lottie let listeners in on the backstory of how her newborn son Wolf got his unique name.
Before presenting the entertainment news, Lottie revealed:
"There was a few different ways the name kind of came to me. My mum loved the name. It was between Rex and Wolf at one stage.
"Our boss actually told me a story when I was pregnant. I was referring to the fact that when I went to one of my appointments I was called a geriatric mother.
"He told me a story about Meryl Streep who was a "geriatric parent" and she has a son called Wolf. I said "My god, that's a bloody cool name."
"My mum said she had always loved the name Wolf but they went with Rex because Rex Ryan is a really strong name."
Lottie also explained how giving her son a name like Wolf meant that nobody would mess with him. She said:
"There would be nobody in the class with the same name. He looks like a wolf. He came out covered in hair. The minute I saw him I said that the name just suits him perfectly."
The famed radio host and daughter of broadcasting legend Gerry Ryan also revealed what life was like with a new baby, explaining to Zamparelli that "he doesn't sleep through the night."
She adds: "He's an amazing baby. I'm obsessed with him. It's very hard to explain the love."
Lottie recently announced her return to 2FM four and a half months of maternity leave. She told Zamparelli:
"I'm so excited to be back but then I'm so nervous for Wolf starting creche. I actually went into labour when I had only been in the office about two or three weeks after Covid. I feel like I have not really been around at all."
The presenter welcomed her new son Wolf four months ago with husband Fabio Aprile. According to Lottie, fans have made comments comparing Wolf's appearance to that of his late grandfather Gerry.
