RTE 2fm star Jennifer Zamparelli deletes her Twitter account

RTE star Jennifer Zamparelli has deleted her Twitter account.

The popular 2fm radio host revealed she would be leaving the social media platform.

She posted a tweet saying: "If anyone is looking for me you can find me on insta @jenzamparelli .. bye bye now take care", before she deleted her account.

The Dubliner returned to the airwaves after taking a two week break.

It is understood that she left Twitter because it wasn't bringing her any happiness.

She posted a video of her doing ten press-ups on Instagram on Monday.

It comes as Zamparelli took time off the airwaves to ‘decompress’ after opening up about her mental health struggles.

The RTE 2fm presenter recently revealed she started seeing a psychotherapist, after she found herself suffering from panic attacks and anxiety after her 40th birthday in April - the same time the pandemic took hold of the world.

January usually marks her busiest time in work - juggling Dancing with the Stars with her daily radio show.

But as the 2021 series has been pulled, Jennifer is instead taking advantage of the break and has booked two weeks off the airwaves to focus on herself and her family.

She told Irish Daily Mirror: “It was crazy.

“I never normally take that amount of time off but I just feel I need it after the year.

“And I’ve turned down a couple of gigs because I just feel I want to be with my family and I just so I am looking forward to the break.

“I’m not going anywhere, I’m just going to decompress 2020 because it has been mental.”

The mum-of-two said she has learned a lot throughout the challenging year, and told how she has now adapted a new, more balanced way of living,

“I’ve learned a lot this year, so that has been important to keep a level head.

“There weren’t a lot of gigs this year, or a lot of things happening, but I suppose balance is very important.

“A couple of years ago I would have said yes to everything and would have been running around like a blue arse fly and I would have been afraid to say no to do things, because there is always the fear you wouldn’t be asked again.

“But I always just ask myself now, ‘at what cost’.”
