RTÉ 2fm star Carl Mullan has announced the birth of his first child with his fiancée in a sweet Instagram post.
The presenter shared a heartwarming caption with his followers to announce the arrival of his bundle of joy.
He said: “Welcome to the world Daibhí Mullan, it’s pretty great here, you’re going to love it.”
Carl is one-third of the RTÉ 2FM Breakfast show trio with co-hosts Doireann Garrihy and Donncha O’Callaghan.
The doting dad shared an adorable video of his baby boy, Daibhí, adding his gratitude for everyone’s support. “Thank you, everyone, for all the lovely messages checking in on us over the last couple of weeks.”
Carl took a moment to thank the “incredible staff” Aine, Anna, and Anya, at Holles Street Hospital, who helped look after his partner Aisling and little Daibhí.
“There will never ever be any words to adequately thank the incredible staff in Holles Street hospital. I’m not sure if any of them will ever see this, but if they do, all I can say is thank you for bringing our little boy safely into the world - you were by our side for a few hours, but someday we’ll tell Daibhí about the incredible women who helped bring him to us safely.”
Sentimentally, he paid tribute to his partner Aisling for being a “superhero” to him and Daibhí.
“Finally to the new Mam, my beautiful Ais, Daibhí and I are so lucky to have an absolute superhero looking after us. I’m so grateful to you for bringing him into the world.”
Carl gave kudos to all the amazing mothers out there. He was grateful to all the healthcare workers that assist with delivering newborn babies and provide maternity care to new mothers, their partner’s, and babies.
“So here’s to Ais, here’s to all the amazing Mam’s out there, and here’s to all midwives/nurses/doctors bringing beautiful little babies into the world every single day.”
In April, Carl announced on Instagram that he was to become a new dad during the Summer. He had joked that his dog Angie would be getting a new friend.
Recently Carl shared a funny pic of him as a baby, hoping their baby would take after him.
Sharing the exciting news, Carl said: “Bit of news pals...New partner in crime for Angie... arriving this summer."
Several of the presenter’s friends and fans congratulated the new dad and his partner Aisling.
Fellow 2FM host Doireann shared her congrats: “Carl, why you gotta pull our heartstrings so hard, Welcome beautiful baby Daibhí.”
