RTE 2FM’s Breakfast host Doireann Garrihy received her J&J jab today.
The presenter and radio DJ was thrilled to finally get vaccinated in Chapelizod pharmacy in Dublin as part of the 18-34s cohort.
Vaccination rollout in pharmacies began on Monday, with Hickey’s pharmacies indicating there has been a huge volume of bookings for the J&J Covid-19 vaccine.
Online registration for this 18-34 age group is now closed and appointments will be offered on a first come first service basis.
Doireann took to Instagram and shared a post captioned “Stick it in me, good and quick.”
Doireann’s co host Carl Mullan commented with joy “HUPPPPPYABOYYA”, with Donncha O’Callaghan adding clapping emojis. A fan of the presenter also added: “Great day for the Parish.”
Garrihy joins thousands of others receiving their vaccinations through pharmacies across the country.
Recently she attended the pilot test festival on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin with 3,500 other attendees. Her sister Aoibhin Garrihy also attended the event with her husband, John.
Aoibhin shared an update on Instagram to express how “mesmerized” she was with the Irish talent performing at the festival.
The test event was a success, despite one attendee's antigen test being positive, then receiving a negative PCR test, according to figures released by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media Department of Health.
