RT-PCR report or vaccination certificate must for tourists in Himachal Pradesh

SHIMLA: Given the increase in Covid-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh, the state government on Wednesday made it mandatory for tourists coming to the state to carry either the vaccination certificate or the RT-PCR negative report issued not earlier than 72 hours.

An advisory issued by the state executive committee said the state is re-opening activities in a gradual manner, but there is no room for complacency as the absolute case numbers remain significantly high.

In order to break the virus transmission chain, Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) has imposed certain restrictions in the state from time to time.

The advisory further said that blatant violations of Covid norms have been observed in several parts of the state, especially in public transport and public places. Massive crowds are thronging the markets and violating norms of social distancing. Therefore, it is important that the field implementation authorities concerned shall ensure Covid appropriate behaviour (CAB) in all crowded places such as shops, malls, markets, market complexes, weekly markets, restaurants & bars, mandis, bus stations, railway platforms/ stations, public parks & gardens, gymnasiums, banquet halls, stadia/sports complexes as well as all areas identified as hotspots for transmission of the virus.

It also warned that defaulters will be liable for action and this may also lead to reimposition of restrictions, for containing the spread of infection.
