RSS chief arrives in Raipur for crucial All India Coordination Committee meet

RAIPUR: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat, on a six-day visit to Raipur, arrived in the city on Tuesday evening, said organisation's Chhattisgarh prant prachar pramukh Kaniram.

As per schedule, Bhagwat will address the "Kendriya toli" meeting on September 7, 8 and 9 followed by the meeting of the All India Coordination Committee of the RSS from September 10 to 12.

The coordination committee meeting will witness the participation of national presidents and secretaries of the 36 branches of RSS such as Vishwa Hindu Parshad, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Swadeshi Jagran Manch and Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh, he said. Around 250 national presidents and general secretaries of these 36 branches will attend the coordination committee meeting, he said.

Hiranyamay Pandya and B Surendran of BMS, Alok Kumar and Milind Parande of VHP, Ashish Chauhan and Nidhi Tripathi of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, BJP National President J P Nadda and B L Santosh and Dinesh Kulkarni of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Ramakrishna Rao and GM Kashipati of Vidya Bharati, Vandaniya Shantakka and Annadanam Sitakka from Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Ramchandra Kharadi and Atul Jog of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram will participate in the coordination committee meeting

The work and achievements of these branches will be discussed in detail in the meeting. Issues related to education, the economy and various social and national security issues will also be discussed.

Meanwhile, Bhagwat’s visit has sparked a row between Congress and opposition BJP.

Reacting to a statement made by the chief minister Bhupesh Baghel that the RSS chief must imbibe the state's culture, the BJP state president Arun Sao said that Baghel has no right to talk about the culture of the state. Only BJP deserves the credit for giving a new identity to Chhattisgarh. Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the architect behind the formation of this state, said Sao. Earlier, chief minister Baghel had credited the Congress party for the promotion of the culture and custom of the state on national and international platforms and invited the BJP president to see the work done by his government towards preserving the culture.

On RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s six-day tour to Chhattisgarh, chief minister Baghel said that he came to know that he will be served Chhattisgarhi dishes. The chief minister invited the RSS chief to visit Kaushalya Mata Mandir in Raipur, Swami Atmanand School. The RSS and BJP should not adopt the culture of Chhattisgarh for a vote only, said the chief minister.
