RSPCA releases video of Lancashire man beating dog

The RSPCA has launched an urgent appeal after a man was filmed repeatedly punching a dog on a Lancashire street.

The footage, shot by a passer by, was handed over to the charity which now says it is “gravely concerned” for the welfare of the animal, believed to be an American bulldog.

The incident was filmed in broad daylight in Nelson on 10th December and the RSPCA has asked for anyone who has any information about the identity of the attacker to come forward.

RSPCA inspector Charlotte Brooke said: “We hope that the images of him and the dog - a large white bull breed, we think probably an American bulldog - along with the location and time this happened will mean that those who know him will recognise him, and call us."

“This was a sustained attack on a dog which was clearly petrified and submissive and which had to be picked up and carried down the street afterwards.”

Anyone with information can call the RSPCA's appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and ask to leave a message for Inspector Booker.
