SET-listed RS Plc aims to increase revenue to 5.3 billion baht next year, a figure that would be the highest in the company's history, as a result of a successful business transformation.
Surachai Chetchotisak, the company's chief executive, said the health and beauty business via Lifestar Co is doing better than the media business, while Channel 8 digital TV operations will go ahead with a prime-time focus, bringing Thai and overseas premium content to viewers.
In the music industry, the company is moving ahead with an artist-centric strategy, while music marketing will continue to be the focus as the company pursues all target audiences.
"After our business transformation, we are now going forward with the 'Beyond the Limit' concept," Mr Surachai said. "The company will tackle new opportunities, based on its existing flagship businesses such as Lifestar, Channel 8, Cool, music and satellite TV, synergising them via a unique model to support and strengthen all of our businesses.
"RS believes that 2018 will be an exciting and challenging year, with many turning points for the company, thanks to its health and beauty business's record-breaking growth."
Mr Surachai said total revenue for 2018 is expected to reach 5.3 billion baht, the highest in the company's history. Of that figure, 47% will be from health and beauty, 46% from media, 5% from music and 2% from events.
Lifestar, the health and beauty business, is forecast to generate 2.5 billion baht through a "product champion" strategy.
Currently, the company has three core brands: Magique skincare, Revive hair care and SOM food supplements. More than 30 new products will be released, in addition to the firm's existing 37 products.
Channel 8 expects to generate 2 billion baht on the strength of its prime-time offerings, with a focus on the post-6am/pm time slots, using its top-rated news programmes with the concept "easy words, easy to watch, easy to understand".
Its boxing programmes, both Thai and international, are intended to attract sport fans, while the Bollywood series Wallop Maharaja and Legend of Ganesha will also be added.
The company has lined up more than 10 new dramas. A new show, Game Riang Ber, offers a chance to win a million baht every day. Next year, the company is aiming to maintain 700,000 viewers per minute, with the advertising rate increased by 45%, effective from January 2018 onwards.
The company aims to generate 250 million baht from its music business's artist-centric strategy, operating under the "Music With No Boundaries" concept. The company will offer a wide array of genres, not just Thai country songs.
Mr Surachai said recently that RS could see revenue exceed this year's target of 3.5 billion baht, which itself would mark 15% growth.
RS shares closed yesterday on the Stock Exchange of Thailand at 24.40 baht, up 30 satang, in trade worth 189.9 million baht.
