Rs 5 crore approved for hockey ground in Rajsamand

JAIPUR: Under the Khelo India Scheme, Rs5 crore has been approved by the ministry of youth affairs and sports for the construction of an astroturf hockey ground in Rajsamand.

It was in 2021 that Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari had made a demand for financial assistance for a multipurpose hall, astroturf hockey ground and 400m synthetic athletic track.

Expressing gratitude to Union minister for youth affairs and sports Anurag Thakur, she said, “This will increase the level of sports in Rajasthan including Rajsamand as players will be able to get better facilities which will help them bring laurels for the country.”

Kalvi, Watson shine in Bedla Polo win:

Bhawani Singh Kalvi (4 goals) and Lance Watson (3 goals) joined forces as they together struck seven goals to help Bedla Polo defeat Krishna Polo 9.5-8 during a SMS Gold Vase Cup (10 goals) match at the Rajasthan Polo Club ground on Tuesday. Rao Himmat Singh Bedla struck two goals for the winners. Krishna Polo’s Siddhant Sharma’s solo attempt, where he scored six goals including a hat-trick, went in vain. The winners had a half goal advantage before the match.GR Academy victorious:
