Roz Purcell is turning her hand to presenting, taking over 2fm’s breakfast show with Eoghan McDermott.
Filling in for Doireann Garrihy while she is on holiday this week, the model turned cookbook author admitted she was nervous ahead of her debut on Monday.
Joking that she was “coming for Doireann’s job”, Tipperary native Roz said: “Hey guys I’ve got some surreal news, this week I’ll be hosting 2fm breakfast alongside Eoghan McDermott from 6.40am until 9am every morning this week. I’m so nervous and excited.
“I have a little mini studio set up, I’m going to show you guys.
“So come on, it’s going to be really good craic, we’re going to keep it all good news, keep the energy up so if you’re working from home, maybe you’re just strolling around the house, have it on in the background.”
The former Miss Universe Ireland, 29, joked: “I guarantee it’ll put a smile on your face and Doireann watch out.
“I’m coming for your job – no I’m not but I will try and impersonate you.”
Doireann, who admitted she was feeling “low” about having to take her annual leave days during Covid-19 wished Roz the best taking over her hot seat this week.
