Roz Purcell includes hilarious hidden message on rare instagram with boyfriend

Roz Purcell has included a hilarious hidden message as she posted a rare picture alongside her boyfriend on Instagram.

The Tipperary native has been dating boyfriend Zach Desmond since 2016 after her split from The Blizzards frontman Bressie.

Zach is the son of Denis Desmond and Caroline Downey, who run MCD Productions, where he works as a promoter.

She posted on Instagram: "Me looking at all your Valentine’s Day gift suggestions like ... thanks for throwing me under the bus lads.

"I might have to do something this year for this exciting Hallmark holiday.

"In all fairness though another excuse to buy Irish so the list is up over on stories- great suggestions, very thoughtful and importantly last minute appropriate for us all."

Roz tagged Zach with three seperate words 'Not your boyfriend' in the first picture and in the second 'he mine.'

People noticed the sneaky tags, one posted: "Omg the tags. Here for it."

It comes as Roz feared people wouldn’t accept her if she wasn’t “skin and bones” when she was battling an eating disorder.

But having come out the other side of it, and now enjoying “full food freedom”, Roz, 30, has urged anyone suffering to seek help – as eating disorder hospital admissions surged during lockdown.

The former Miss Universe Ireland winner said her disorder started with a simple diet but soon went on to take over her life.

She told Newstalk Breakfast: “That led to bingeing and purging, which led to bulimia and then eventually anorexia.

“I had such an immense fear of gaining weight that I just carried out this anxiety the whole time, particularly around food and I exercised excessively.”

The Tipperary-born model added: “My life revolved around what I looked like and what weight I was.

“I couldn’t have a proper relationship with my family, friends, boyfriends because I only cared about what weight I was.”

The author and social media guru also told how compliments made it difficult to break the cycle.

She added: “So I was really tied into this version of myself that, if I lost weight, if I was a low weight, I was going to be more successful, I was going to be more accepted and people were going to like me better.”

Recalling the “immense fear” she had throughout her journey back to health, she said she was worried she wouldn’t be “accepted” if she put on weight.

She added: “My biggest fear, when I was going to get help – I went to CBT-E [Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy] – and trying to break out of my disorderly eating, was a fear of gaining weight because I didn’t know if people would accept me.

“People had already told me they preferred this version of me so how was I going to re-enter with who I really am – which is not somebody who is skin and bones.”

However, as the Irish Medical Journal revealed hospital admissions for eating disorders rose by 66% last year compared to 2019, Roz promised there is light at the end of the tunnel.

She said: “I have complete food freedom right now.

“Recovery is definitely not linear, it is up and down and it will take a couple of years. You will come out the other side and you will look back and think, ‘through this journey I actually became myself again’.”
