ARLINGTON, Texas _ The Royals placed right-handed relief pitcher Luke Hochevar on the 15-day disabled list Thursday before a game at Texas.
Hochevar is showing signs of thoracic outlet syndrome, a shoulder condition that Royals pitching prospect Kyle Zimmer recently had surgery for.
Brooks Pounders was recalled from Class AAA Omaha and was set to arrive in Arlington, Texas on Thursday night. Pounders, 25, made his major-league debut July 5 and has allowed eight hits and six runs in four innings across three appearances.
