Royals pitcher Danny Duffy placed on disabled list with oblique strain

Royals starter Danny Duffy is expected to miss six to eight weeks after sustaining a Grade 1 plus oblique strain on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland.

The Royals placed Duffy on the 10-day disabled list on Monday afternoon. Duffy suffered the injury while covering first base and tumbling to the ground during Sunday's loss.

The Royals also announced Monday that left-hander Eric Skoglund will start Tuesday night against the Detroit Tigers, making his major-league debut.
