Royal update: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle demoted on the Royal Family's website

The rift between Prince Harry and the British Royal family is ongoing and seems unlikely to settle, as the latter has struck again. Both the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle have been 'demoted' on the official Royal website, now featuring second to last with Prince Andrew.

Earlier, the couple were listed somewhere in between - below senior royals and above minor royals.

"The change has been made because the Duke and Duchess are no longer working royals, unlike those who now appear above them," a source told the Daily Mail.

The fifth-in-line to the throne, Prince Harry, is now placed even below Princess Alexandra, a cousin of the Queen and 56th in the line of succession.

According to a royal fan, "When one quits a job the old company does not normally leave them on the website. They're lucky to be there at all." Another one sympathized with the royal couple and tweeted, "No matter what you may think of them it is irrefutable that Harry is son of the King – shuffling lists cannot change that."

The demotion does not come as a surprise to many, as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had stepped down from being the working members of the Royal family in 2020. Following the 'Megxit', the couple also featured in a bombshell interview with American talk-show host Oprah Winfrey, where the Duke and the Duchess revealed ugly truths about the British Royal.

It is to note that this is not the first time the couple have been demoted. Earlier, their profiles were moved below Princess Anne, after they quit their royal positions.
