Royal staff 'worshipped' Prince Harry but now 'horrified' by him after Oprah interview

Royal household staff "worshipped" Prince Harry but are now "horrified" by him after his bombshell interview, it is claimed.

The Duke of Sussex and wife Meghan Markle shocked the world with their revelations to Oprah Winfrey in March.

The tell-all sit-down featured claims about racism, mental health and the perpetuation of "falsehoods" from within the Firm.

The couple's split from the royal family is a marked difference from Harry's younger years, when he was known as a loveable rogue.

But it is now claimed that staff cut their ties with the prince, 36, after his disclosures in the recent interview.

A source told the Sunday Times : "Harry was worshipped by most people in the household; now most people are horrified by him."

The publication also said the Sussexes' portrayal of the royal family created a "culture of fear" among staff, leaving them "nervous".

"Staff are fearful of attacks on social media and what bomb might land next", insiders added.

Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, 39, first quit royal life in March 2020 before officially confirming the move earlier this year.

Reports of a rift with staff first emerged in 2018, with it alleged that the prince said: "What Meghan wants, Meghan gets."

But discussing the incident - which reportedly centred on a wedding tiara - insiders said they "all cared deeply about Harry".

They told the Telegraph they were determined to "do whatever it takes to make it work for Meghan"

There were also claims that the former 'Suits' actress clashed with Kate Middleton, 39, over bridesmaid's dresses.

This was also raised in the chat with Winfrey, 67, with Meghan stating that the narrative had been reportedly wrongly.

It has been said the she had made the Duchess of Cambridge cry - but she claimed it was actually the other way around.

Meghan and Harry are now living in Montecito, California, where both have launched into new ventures - and signed big-money deals.

The prince was recently announced as the chief impact officer at BetterUp, a mental health business.

The pair are expecting their second child in the summer, who will become a younger brother or sister to Archie, one.

Buckingham Palace said in the aftermath of the interview with Winfrey, 67, that the issues raised would be addressed "privately".
