Royal photographer claims Meghan Markle has ‘changed’ Prince Harry - but GMB host is having none of it

A veteran royal photographer has attacked Meghan Markle for ‘changing’ Prince Harry following the couple’s revelations that they plan to ‘step back’ from their duties.

Arthur Edwards, 79, who has been a royal photographer for The Sun since 1977, told Good Morning Britain that the current situation is ‘not Harry’.

During the discussion about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quitting from significant parts of their public life, Arthur - who has covered seven royal weddings, four funerals, and eight births during his career - criticised the former Suits actress for her influence over Harry.

He told Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain: “Before Harry met Meghan he was very tight with his brother and Cathrine, they have charities together, they were always working out together, and he had a great relationship with the Queen.”

When host Susanna Reid cut in to point out that people fall in love, Arthur dismissed it.

“Yes people fall in love, I fell in love with my wife but I didn’t change did I? I still carried on doing what I wanted to do,” he said.

Ben pressed about Harry’s wish to settle down and become a father like his brother William, but again Arthur was having none of it.

“Yes but issuing writs at the end of a tour that has been hugely successful - that’s not Harry, it’s definitely not Harry,” he said.

“He’s the nicest person.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
